World Cup 2023: Anushka Sharma became emotional after Team India’s defeat in the final
New Delhi: Emotions were at their peak across the country on Sunday evening after Team India’s crushing defeat to Australia in the final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Australia defeated India by six wickets to win its sixth World Cup, while India missed out on a silver medal in its third World Cup. The final match between India and Australia broke billions of hearts and among them was Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, who was seen fighting tears in the stadium.
Anushka was among the B-town celebs who reached Narendra Modi Stadium to cheer for Team India. A photo of the actress has surfaced on the internet in which she is seen in an emotional state. The actress can be seen covering her face with her fingers and apparently trying to hold back her tears.
Actress Athiya Shetty, sitting next to him, also looked upset and saddened by the outcome of the game and had a serious expression on her face.
After the match, another picture also surfaced, in which Anushka is seen hugging the cricketer and her husband Virat Kohli and her tears are flowing. The image went viral, resonating with fans as they shared the pain of India’s defeat. Despite the defeat, Virat Kohli received the Player of the Tournament award for his excellent performance.
